An academically trained landscape painter from northeastern Massachusetts, Hillary Scott began her artistic career as a children's book illustrator before transitioning to fine art. She is known for her ability to capture light, atmosphere, and a profound sense of space and time, drawing endless inspiration from the salt marshes and wetlands of New England. Her paintings are created through a thoughtful combination of plein air studies, photography, direct observation, memory, and imagination.
Since exhibiting her oil paintings, Hillary has been accepted into numerous national exhibitions and has received multiple awards. Her work is held in private collections around the world, and she has been recognized by PleinAir Magazine as one of its 15 Most Influential Landscape Artists on Instagram. Hillary is a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America and the American Tonalist Society, as well as a Master Artist Member of the Newburyport Art Association. She is represented by galleries in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and North Carolina.
